Edge of Dusk by Colleen Coble #giveaway

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book for review. Opinions shared are mine.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you might have noticed that I participate in fewer book tours than in the past. I’m much more protective of my time these days, and only agree to review books that I am excited to read. When books from a favorite author like Colleen Coble come up, I have more time available to devote. As soon as Edge of Dusk came on my radar, I was sending the “Yes, please!”

A Stranger’s Game by Colleen Coble #giveaway

What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods? We are having rainy, cold days and even a bit of snow. Reading a book in a coastal setting is like taking a mind-cation. A Stranger’s Game by Colleen Coble takes place on Jekyll Island, GA, a place I’ve always wanted to visit.

Freedom’s Light by Colleen Coble

You know when a store or restaurant goes completely rogue, and it throws you off? For example, IHOP becoming IHOb — how does a restaurant go from pancakes to burgers?  It’s not that the burgers are bad, exactly…just different from the expectation.  That’s how I felt with Freedom’s Light by Colleen Coble.  This book kind of caught me off guard, probably because I’ve been used to reading Coble’s suspenseful books instead of historical fiction.

A Heart’s Danger – book 3 in the Colleen Coble Journey of the Heart series

A Heart's Danger by Colleen Coble - featured on savingsinseconds.com

I read this book in a hurry because I wanted to send it off in a package for my grandmother.  I love to send her books, which helps her to pass the days and keep her mind sharp. I earn free books through Tyndale Rewards (join here — it’s free!) and send her my review books. She loves these sweet Christian romance novels, and this one will sure spice things up a bit!  A Heart’s Danger gives us a more lively view of the Native American tribes that surround the Campbell clan in this series.  While the previous two books in the Journey of the Heart series  had fairly tame storylines, this one was powerfully dark.  In fact, the mood is even reflected in this stunning book cover!  [Read more…]

A Heart’s Obsession – book 2 in the Colleen Coble Journey of the Heart series book review

Take the time to read the Journey of the Heart series - book 2 is A Heart's Obsession. Savingsinseconds.com

For all those times that you wished you had time to read a book, this one is for you! The Journey of the Heart by Colleen Coble has been serialized into six small novellas.  A Heart’s Obsession (Journey of the Heart)is the second in the series. Click here for book one’s review!

My biggest recommendation for this book series is —> DON’T READ THE BOOK SUMMARY!!  Each title is so short that it’s difficult to give a proper review without also giving an improper spoiler.  The book summary completely gives away every single thing that happens in these short 100 pages.  So, heed my advice and just open to the first page!   [Read more…]

Smitten Book Club by Coble, Billerbeck, Hunt, and Hunter

Disclosure: I received this book to review. The opinions shared here are 100% mine.
Smitten Book Club is on my bookshelf. savingsinseconds.com

You might remember my previous review about the Smitten series; it’s clear that I’m smitten with Smitten.  When Smitten Book Club was offered as a book to review, I think I fairly squealed with glee.  Returning to this quaint, romantic little town was like watching a favorite movie again.  The 4 novellas fit together since the main characters are all friends in this small Vermont town.   In this book, Smitten has its own share of heartache when one of their firefighters is killed in action.  The town comes together to help the widow and child that were left behind.  The book club meetings offer a chance for a small group of friends to meet on a weekly basis to come up with ways to help the family and tend to some drama of their own.  [Read more…]

On My Bookshelf: Rosemary Cottage by Colleen Coble

When I read Colleen Coble’s novel Tidewater Inn last year, I couldn’t put it down until it was finished. Sitting on the couch until 2 AM, the pages kept turning until the last page was savored. This time I was smarter and started in the late afternoon so I was able to finish just before midnight. Another marathon Coble read successfully completed! Rosemary Cottage proved to be just as entertaining and thrilling as Tidewater Inn.  I received this book as part of the book tour for Litfuse Publicity.  It was nice to become reacquainted with the characters of Tidewater Inn while meeting new characters in Rosemary Cottage.   I remembered the beautiful architectural detail from the first novel, so it was interesting to hear about the different homes found on Hope Beach.  [Read more…]
