One Perfect Couple by Ruth Ware

Disclosure: Thanks to the publisher for giving me a copy of this book for review. Opinions shared are mine.

This is definitely my favorite Ruth Ware book yet! It was worth the lack of sleep. The deserted island setting sounded glorious until the storm hits — in more ways than one. There’s lots of girl power and sisterhood in One Perfect Couple. It would be a great book club selection!

I’d just finished reading another reality TV themed book before this one (Everyone Is Watching by Heather Gudenkauf) so I was kind of bummed about this topic at first. As soon as I got through the first couple of chapters, though, it was clear that One Perfect Couple was very different — in a good way. The characters are not the type of people I’d normally like or want to hang out with, but I was obsessed with this book until finally reaching the end.

This story also made me chuckle a bit. My husband and I love to binge Survivor episodes. Series shows like Ultimate Cowboy Showdown and The Great British Baking Show hit high on our watch lists. We both agree, though, that we would not do well on a reality show, whether together or individually. So while I sometimes try to imagine myself in a book’s setting, this is one I happily opted out of!
