Right where I wanna be... on my Reverie pillow reading a book -- savingsinseconds.com Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”  Luke 9:58

I often think of this verse at night.  It always hurts my heart a bit to think of Jesus not having a soft pillow or bed to rest upon.  Laying down to rest is such a precious part of my day. It’s when I finally get to sigh in relief, take a moment to snuggle down, and drift off to sleep.  Sometimes I drag my pillow out to the couch and prop up with it while I read a good book.   Recently Reverie sent me a Sweet Slumber Pillow to sample and it has become the highlight of my bedtime routine to plump it up and get all comfy on it!   Last week I finished the book Seeing the Voice of God, which emphasized the importance of getting a good night’s rest.  The Reverie pillow is definitely making that possible!

If you’ve ever scoffed at buying an expensive pillow, you’re not alone.  My husband and I have an inside joke about a shopping trip many years ago when we visited a high-end department store.  He touched a down pillow and said it was the softest pillow he’d ever felt.  He loved it and kept going back to it.   I encouraged him to buy that pillow until we found out that it was priced at over $150!  We both though it was a joke; neither of us had ever purchased a pillow except in the bargain bin at Walmart.  The saleslady did not think it was funny that we didn’t believe her.  Mortified at our obvious lack of class, we ducked out of the store.

Years later, I can appreciate the quality of a great pillow but don’t want to pay that top of the line price.  Reverie offers the Sweet Slumber Pillow at under $100.  Now, that may still seem high but let me tell you that this pillow is definitely in a different class than my $5 Target pillows.  The Sweet Slumber pillow is hypo-allergenic and provides excellent support for my spine and neck.  It’s filled with shredded natural rubber, something we much prefer to down pillows since my husband suffers from many allergies.  The pillow is so soft and lofty that it just conforms to my head, yet it has more weight to it than the inexpensive pillows that we’ve always used.  My preference for a cool pillow, a little quirk of mine, is well satisfied with the Sweet Slumber.  It has a removable cover that’s machine washable; this helps to provide dust mite resistance as well.  That’s a good thing, since my high-maintenance dog tries to catch my Reverie pillow unattended so she can commandeer it for herself.

I can safely say that I’m completely spoiled by Reverie’s Sweet Slumber Pillow and would love to outfit every bed in my house with a set of these dreamy fluffs!   Visit Reverie on Facebook and follow on Twitter for product updates and funny videos.  They also offer many other products to help you get a good night’s sleep.  On Reverie’s site you’ll find mattresses, foundations, and entire sleep systems!

Would the Sweet Slumber Pillow help you get a better night’s rest?

Sounds like a wonderful pillow! When it comes to getting a good night’s rest, I think a good pillow is worth just about any reasonable price.

  7. That pillow really does look comfy! We need new pillows, I might have to try these 🙂

  8. I have chronic neck pain and I bet the sweet slumber pillow would help me with it! I always notice that my neck feels better when I use a better pillow.

  9. Oh man, I grew up with pillows my mom made, so when I went to buy my first pillow, I about died on the price. Then even worse when I found out all the pillows I had bought for less than $100 were WORSE than the ones my mom made. How sad is that!? Very disheartening. That is fantastic you found a great pillow for less than $100! I need to check these out, my boys desperately need new pillows.

I can totally related to the $150-must-be-a-typo reaction. We used to buy the most inexpensive products thinking that all things are created equal. But as we were able to afford nicer things, we realized that the less expensive weren’t as good/comfortable but also not as durable. Items we paid more for lasted longer AND made us happier or gave us better quality of life.

  19. I am picky about the pillow that I use. I also can’t really sleep without one. My feather down pillow is my favorite but I could use a new one.

  20. I’ve been unable to get comfortable with my pillows. I keep waking up with a stiff neck. Looks like something I should consider!

  21. Sherry Compton says

Sounds great! The thing about buying expensive, better pillows can mean better night sleep plus they often last longer. We are a middle-of-the-road family. We don’t buy the cheapest but not the most expensive either. After reading your post, I might want to invest more in my pillow and a mattress. Sleep is very important.
