How to get your husband to mop the floor -- Shark steam and mop at savingsinseconds.com
It’s long been decided that between the two of us, my husband is the better housekeeper. He is non-sentimental, ruthlessly throwing away things I try to hoard. Resourceful and clever, he finds ingenious ways to clean behind and between appliances or furniture. Somehow he gets the cleaning finished way faster than I ever do; we call it the “Quick Clean” because it’s often necessary before we have a friend over! Unfortunately we don’t seem to get that Quick Clean accomplished very often. This week, however, I figured out how to get him to mop the floor on demand. Ladies, watch and learn.

Enter the Shark Steam and Spray.

This little dream goes on both tile and hardwood floors. I’ve longed for one for maybe as long as I can remember. We had too many vacuum/mop type gadgets that never really worked well. There was a Shark steam mop in my life once but I was lazy and didn’t use distilled water in it. Poor thing, it suffered a terrible death. I’ve vowed to be kinder to this one!   It gets the floors so clean that one can actually feel the difference when walking on them.  That 99.9% Sanitization thing is no joke.  I bought one for my mom and my mother-in-law, too, because the steam mop is so amazing!  When the Steam and Spray model was advertised, I knew it was something I needed to try.  Finally, finally, one floor cleaner for my whole house. So how to get your husband to mop the floor? Asking my husband to put the Shark Steam and Spray together worked for me! It arrives fully assembled, so–between you and me– that’s really an simple task. My husband installed the batteries and filled up the water tank. Easy peasy.  If you’ve been buying expensive cleaners for your floors, heads up!  You can fill the Steam part (for wood floor) of the Steam and Spray with your favorite cleaner.  That is perfect for those of you who prefer natural or homemade formulas! It gives me peace of mind to know that I can use a “safe” cleaner around my kids and pets.

Once you get the Steam and Spray hooked up, it’s time to give it a test run. This is the fun part!  Mr. Savingsinseconds plugged it in and took it for a spin.  He first ventured onto the tile in the kitchen. This is a high-traffic area in our house and it shows!  Since the demise of our other mop, the best treatment the kitchen floor received was a wet-and-shuffle with old towels.  There were some disgusting residual stains on the floor from, well, who knows what?   The Shark Steam and Spray laughed in the floor’s face, getting rid of those stains with ease! To get the steam started, you just pump the handle up and down a couple of times. The mop is very lightweight and is easy to handle. This would be perfect for someone who has difficulty with squeezing water out of a traditional mop.

Next, he took the Shark Steam and Spray into the dining room.  Our home has hardwood floors throughout the entire upper level.  The dirtiest part, as you can imagine, is the kitchen floor.  I loved that I can now use one tool to conquer the dirt!  After a few swipes under the dining table, the floor sparkled!

With the Shark Steam and Spray, you don’t have to purchase pricey replacement pads.  Just toss the cloth in the washing machine and it’s fresh every time!  If you’re cleaning a particularly filthy area and you cringe at the thought of washing the pad, never fear.  There are disposable cloths available, too.

Both of us were really happy with the Shark Steam and Spray.  I was doubly happy because now that the hubs knows how easy it is to wield this awesome appliance, he’s more likely to get the floors mopped for me!   He’s a good-natured guy and didn’t mind being part of my little experiment.  Since we spent only a few minutes getting the floors cleaned, we had the rest of the day to enjoy the clean house!

Be sure to follow Shark Cleaning on Facebook and other social media like I did!  They often share specials, cleaning tips, and just fun posts.
