You don’t have time for books, you say?
I’m not sure if I would like to read Amish fiction, you say?
Just pick up An Amish Home and tell me what you think.
There are 3 reasons why I highly recommend An Amish Home to anyone who enjoys Christian fiction.
Just look at the authors!!
I’ve enjoyed Amy Clipston’s stories for years, but have just recently discovered the other 3 authors of this book. These stories are creative, beautifully executed, and provide just enough background without making me feel like I missed the entire novel.
Variety of plots
Since this is a “home” themed novella collection, you might think the stories are all the same. Happily, the characters and experiences in this collection provide a pleasant detour from typical Amish themes. How about a female carpenter? Or a couple who’s out of the honeymoon phase but trying to start a new life together? Each story has a magic all its own. It’s also not completely focused on mundane romance, which was a blessed relief.
Just long enough
Sometimes when I read a novella, it makes me realize that I read only the highlights of a book. In this case, though, I felt like I got just enough of each story. It was the perfect amount of book!
Do you enjoy reading novellas?
