I am not a great decorator. The idea just exhausts me.  I love to look at home decor magazines and would like to believe that I can make my house look like that, but when it comes down to action….well, it’s just not there.   But WOOT  I finally found my calling!!  Vinyl decals!!  I have used these with success in my kids’ rooms over the past few months.  It was time to branch out into the main living areas of my home.

RoomMates is a brand that I’ve seen in several retail stores in my area.  I mean, if Target carries it, it must be good right?  They sent me two packs of wall decals to try.  If you haven’t visited their website, let me be your guide.  There is an incredible variety of decals on their site.   Have a Brave fan in the house?   Check out this set ——>

I wish I had known about RoomMates when my daughter was younger, she would have absolutely LOVED this Ariel decal!   I can’t possibly include all of the pictures that I love, but honestly you do need to see for yourself.  There are so many vibrant, fun decals available and the prices are extremely affordable.    And the site doesn’t have just images.  There are also wall pockets, chalkboards, wall charms, and even mirrors.

I had a really difficult time choosing my decal sets, but finally decided upon these Black Damask Wall Decals and the White Orchid Giant Wall Decal.

To give you an idea of what the decal looked like in the package, this is the sheet I opened up:

I was really intimidated by the sheet because it looked like there were so many pieces.  However, once I got into the project, it was super easy.  The main decal was all one piece, and the rest of the little “leaves” were separate.

Here’s what my living room looked like before………………………………………………………..and then what it looked like after:

My daughter helped me put the larger decal on because it tended to stick to itself on the sides.  This project took us less than 10 minutes start-to-finish….we got it completed while my son watched a cartoon!  I’ve already had compliments on these from my sister-in-law!

Then came my foyer.   Here are the before and after shots:

My daughter walked in later that afternoon and said, “MOM!  I absolutely LOVE the wall!”   Coming from an 8 year old, that is pretty impressive.  She is my true critic.
