Recently I went out to eat with some friends during a work lunch. The restaurant happened to have a coupon ad on the back of the grocery store receipt that was in my purse. I pulled it out and planned to use it on the combo meal I planned to order. My colleague was ordering the same lunch, so I checked my purse and found an identical coupon, which saved her $1.00 too. She made the comment, “That’s why you have a coupon site!” and we had a good laugh, but later I thought about the situation and wondered—how many people actually USE those coupons? Is it worth it for advertisers to provide a coupon there?
The receipts from Food City have coupons that I use, more so than the ones from Ingle’s and Kroger. Still, I always look at them to see if I can use them. I often clip them just like regular coupons and save them. Here are the coupons I found on the back of one of my receipts. I have highlighted the ones I plan to use, and those that we might use at some point in the next few weeks.
La Carreta — $2.00 off $15+ purchase, or $4 off $30+ purchase (this would be good for date night!)
Great Clips– $2 off haircut (definitely will use this in a couple of days for my son)
Woods Service Center — Free tire rotation & brake check with oil/filter change
Jersey Mike’s — Buy regular sub & 2 drinks, get regular sub free (perfect for take-out dinner one night!)
Hearth & Patio — $75 off gas logs, 10% off wood stoves
Golden Corral — $1 off breakfast (we love going there for breakfast–might use this on the weekend!)
TCBY — B1G1 Small size cone or cup (yum!)
Braeden’s BBQ — $5.99 small pork combo, or $5.95 2 hot dog combo (definitely worth it for a great lunch)
Eyelight Vision Center — 15% off exam and glasses, $100 off per eye Lasik Surgery
Courtesy Kingsport — $20 off transmission service, $10 off oil change (I need an oil change anyway)
As you can see, I plan to use many of these coupons at some point in the month of June. Keeping these coupons would definitely save me some cash. If you live in the Tricities, tell me—do you use those coupons? Why or why not? And do you try new businesses because you have a coupon, or do you use them only when you planned to go there anyway?

We do have coupons on one of our grocery stores receipts and some other retailers have coupons on their receipts too. Most of the coupons tho are for auto related things that I don’t need or hair salons that I don’t use, lol I do check them every time tho just in case 🙂
i use the dollar store one they now i get up to 50 dolalr of stuff the firt of the month with coupons
Yes, there are coupons on the back of our receipts and I have used them before. I mostly have used ones for KFC or Burger King.
