The first time I ever acknowledged a truly tacky Christmas sweater was when I first saw Bridget Jones’ Diary. Colin Firth could wear a burlap sack and would be just as swoon-worthy (perhaps more so) but this reindeer sweater just takes the fruitcake. It ranks right up there with Ralphie’s bunny pajamas in The Christmas Story. Clearly, our culture has serious issues with obligatory wearing of gifted clothing. What to do if you don’t have an Aunt Clara to gift you a tacky sweater? The easy solution is to buy one from Tipsy Elves! You still have time to catch the midnight sleigh. I wore the Yeti sweater several times already this Christmas season. Each and every time I put it on, it gets compliments no matter where I go. People actually laugh and cheer for the abominable snowman! I ordered this larger than my regular size to make sure it was roomy enough. No one wants a tight sweater, unless you look like the type of person people actually want to see in a tight sweater. I’m glad I sized up because it was perfect. The back of the sweater has the same snowflake motif throughout. The sweater is very well made; I was surprised at the fantastic quality of the knit.
The cat sweater is in a league all its own. There’s an actual bell dangling from the cat’s collar. This will not be worn on a test day at school. The pom-poms are sewn all around the entire sweater, as are the red bows. We are having a Christmas Sweater luncheon at work tomorrow and I can’t wait to wear this! When I looked at this photo, it reminded me of the cat that lights up his life on the Griswold family Christmas tree. I’ve obviously been enjoying too many holiday movies this month.
There’s so much to see on the Tipsy Elves site. Don’t scroll down if you’re bashful. Some of the attire is quite raunchy; I wouldn’t show this to my tween because there would be too many embarrassing questions to answer. There’s still plenty of cuteness for the prudish like me. I’d love to try the Swants and the Lightweight Sweaters, too.
