Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book. Opinions shared are mine.

Here’s a fun experiment for you: Ask a teenager about a Rolodex, if they know how to use a “party line”, or what “Be Kind, Rewind” means.  Their answers will be hilarious!  After teaching 6th grade for 2 decades, I’ve finally come to accept that I’m older than I realize.  My students refer to things like my childhood as “the olden days.”  That’s why I got such a kick out of Ripley’s Time Warp.  This book contains so many cool correlations between different events in history!

It’s so interesting to see the relationship between inventions, events, and individuals.  Kids will love seeing familiar movies and people pictured in the book.  The correlations really put things in perspective.  For example, 66 years might seem like a long time to a 12 year old.  Most of them, though, will realize that 66 years must have seemed short between the first flight and the first trip to space.

I love that Time Warp inspires kids to think about parallel events.  I think this helps kids gain an awareness that many connected things are happening around the world at any given time.

One lucky reader will win a copy of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Time Warp. The giveaway is open to US and CAN readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law. Enter on the form below.

About the Book:

Filled with all-true facts comparing events, inventions and people that you would never believe existed at the same time in history, this brand new Ripley’s Believe It or Not! series will warp your mind!

We’re comparing the world’s most bizarre parallel events! Did you know that the Eiffel Tower was presented at the 1889 World’s Fair–the same year that Nintendo was founded? Or that the last beheading by guillotine in France occurred in 1977–the same year that Star Wars was released? It might feel like you’re in a time warp, but it’s all true!
