It’s a SNOW DAY!!  And it’s not even snowing outside yet!!  Later today our area is supposed to be hit with a huge slap from Winter Storm Pax (which seems like a crazy name for a storm that has potential to wreak havoc, but okay.)  In a preemptive strike against the snow, our school system was smart and called out today.  Which means the kids and I are hanging out in our PJ’s enjoying a much needed day off, since my son is still recovering from a chest cold.  We don’t have to worry about venturing into the bad weather and trying to make it back home.  Yay, school system officials!!  I decided it was a good time to celebrate by breaking out the new beauty goodies I received this week.  Since my new Nature’s Sleep slippers just arrived, it was a perfect excuse to have pretty toenails!

Whenever I splurge on a pedicure at a nail salon, I’m always sheepish when they actually look at my feet.  My dry, rough feet look more like Velcro than a woman’s soft supple skin.  When the poor soul working on my feet asks, “Do you walk barefoot a lot?” I always hang my head in shame.  Now that these cloud-soft Nature’s Sleep slippers have arrived, I can proudly bare my feet because I just know they’ll keep me from that pedicure embarrassment!

I ordered the Nature’s Sleep slippers in size Medium to fit my size 7 1/2 feet.  That size was absolutely perfect — not so big that my feet slide around, yet not too small with my heels hanging out.   The slippers are very plush, which means my feet are surrounded and almost embraced in the soft memory foam.   They’re very sturdy and I daresay they could handle going outside for a walk to the mailbox or to take the dog outside.  The delicate pale blue shade is lovely; I originally considered the pink but thought I wanted something a bit different. I’m glad I went with these.  Lightweight and luxurious are the highlights of these slippers.  I think I might just need to get my mom a pair for Mother’s Day this year!  Enter to win a pair in my Nature’s Sleep slippers giveaway (open through 2/15).

Speaking of work of art, my pedicure wasn’t professional quality but it was a definite improvement.  My daughter saw my pedicure and wanted her own toes painted, too.  She was really interested in using my new nail caviar because it’s simply AWESOME!!  I’ve been wanting this for ages and was tickled pink to find it in my February Beauty Box 5.  This is a totally fun must-have if you’ve got a fun loving gal in your house.  My daughter wanted to use the raspberry pink Motives nail polish and it looked completely fabulous with her dark skin tone.  Now, I chose the RockStar pink that came with my Beauty Box 5.  The great thing about this polish was that it covered super heavy in just one swipe, so I didn’t have to waste time on two or three coats.  Then I sprinkled some of my nail caviar on my toes.  It was so much fun!! The other contents of the box included La Fresh wipes, John Frieda haircare samples, and a coupon for a Name Necklace.  My Beauty Box 5 also came with an awesome Elizabeth Mott mascara sample that I’m sure I’ll need to buy in full-size when I run out.
