For a long time, I’ve been a fan of Coke Classic.  Although herbal tea has been my drink of choice as of late, it’s still detrimental to my style.  You should see the insides of my Disney mugs.  Ouch.  The tea is staining my mugs just like it’s staining my teeth!  Several times in the past few years, I’ve asked the dentist about teeth whitening procedures. Each time, I’ve cringed when the price is mentioned. I just can’t see myself spending $250 or more on it. Smile Brilliant is just as effective yet costs much less than an in-office whitening procedure. It’s also so convenient to whiten at home. I can read a book, watch TV, or enter giveaways while my teeth get all prettied up!  Here are the before and after photos. What do you think? 

The first thing to note is that you must allow for the delay between the time you order and your actual application. Don’t wait until the weekend before your wedding to use this product. You must create the custom trays, send it off and wait for it to be returned in a whitening tray form, then allow a few days to go through the whitening process. The trays took only a few minutes to create. The instructions are extremely easy to follow; there’s even a spare molding clay set to use in case you mess one up (as I did.) Forgive me for not taking photos of this process; it’s extremely time sensitive (you have seconds before the clay hardens) and I just didn’t have enough hands! Once I sent off my trays, they arrived within only a few days. I was surprised how quickly the whole thing wrapped up!

Now, I’m a big wimp. I was scared to do the whitening for 2-3 hours at a time because of my fear of tooth sensitivity. If you’ll remember, my teeth are generally sensitive anyway. Smile Brilliant has excellent customer service; their rep walked me through each stage of the whitening process so that I knew what would work for me. I used it a couple of times for 30 minutes a pop and didn’t suffer from tooth pain or sensitivity at all.   I really dislike keeping anything in my mouth for a long period of time.  For example, I don’t chew gum or eat lollipops.  So it was difficult for me to get over that issue; however, I found that when I wore the trays while taking a shower or getting ready in the morning, it worked well because I could spit whenever I wanted to get the taste out of my mouth.  This morning I even wore the trays while going through the drive-thru to take my kids to school!  I brought the case along so that I could put the trays in it for storage and just popped them out before walking into work.  So easy!

Smile Brilliant whitened my smile in a gentle enough way that it’s not super obvious Ross Geller style, although I think it restored a brightness to my smile that I was missing before.  I was totally happy with my experience and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a whitening kit that was less expensive than the dentist’s offerings.  I plan to continue using the trays to maintain a gradual whiteness to my teeth.
