On My Bookshelf (and perfect for Mother’s Day!): Postcards From Misty Harbor series

Recently I had the opportunity to participate in the Postcards From Misty Harbor Inn series book tour. The two books I received were Seaside Harmony and Sunflower Summer .  Three sisters visit Nantucket Island taking with them the precious memory of their mother.  They spent many happy days of their childhood together on Nantucket and wanted to reconnect on a vacation together.  During the course of their trip, they have the opportunity to buy an inn that is the iconic symbol of their vacations from those early days.  The three sisters are as different as can be, and their dreams don’t always align.

I read both of these books on the same day.  I finished Seaside Harmony first and just had to know what happened.  I stayed up until 3 AM to read the Sunflower Summer!  I loved the rekindled closeness of the sisters.  There are also so many other charming characters in this series.  Under the main plot, there are lingering storylines that help to weave together a believable setting.  The original mistress of the inn disappeared when she was a newlywed and the sisters are determined to find out what happened to her.  There is also a bit of romance in the story that makes it all warm and fuzzy.  I’ve never visited Nantucket but these books made me long for a seaside adventure of my own.

If someone on your Mother’s Day list is a reader, these books would be a great gift.  I know already that my copies need to go to my mother-in-law. She is close with her own sisters and will appreciate the humorous situations that the fictional sisters encounter.  This is a series that I’ll continue to read.

I received these books to review.  The opinions shared are 100% mine.
