I Can Learn to Pray from Tommy Nelson - #giveaway
There’s a church camp song that stayed in my mind after all these years. It was called “Learning to Pray” — from one of the missionary visitors we had that year. I can’t even remember the name of the singer, but I remember some of the lyrics. It went like this:

Learning to pray,
Nothing pleases the Father more than his children
Learning to pray.

Words find their way
to the heart of the Savior.
God hears His children
Learning to pray.

Children love the thought of being truly heard; how powerful is the thought of their words reaching the heart of God! In the book I Can Learn to Prayfrom Tommy Nelson, children will find that there are different ways (and reasons) to pray.

The first section focuses on God’s role as a friend. This establishes a comfortable relationship, one that mighth otherwise seem intimidating. This section also introduces the idea of using a prayer journal. Writing down prayers, and looking back to see how they are answered, is a step that older children may enjoy. The book continues to guide children through time management, finding a prayer partner, and praying as a gift to God. The weekly devotions go beyond the basics. This is a how-to guide, complete with informal “assignments” that make prayer seem more like a fun project that something to learn. I really like the layout, and think that the format could be modified to work with older kids as well. The illustrations are geared toward children ages 4-8, but the ideas in this book are perfect for anyone who wishes to improve his prayer life.

On the form below, you can enter to win a copy of I Can Learn to Pray from Tommy Nelson! The giveaway is open to US readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law. Good luck!
