So I got Wall Slicks. And now I have to redecorate.

Let me explain.

I’m not the decorating type.  I’d rather sit around and try new beauty products or read a book. Before my son was born, I got the bright idea to paint his room an unexpected color. Khaki sounded preppy and cute, so I went with that. Except it turned out to be more of a golden poop brown. My husband teased me about it mercilessly yet was unwilling to repaint (wonder why?)  I haven’t been very motivated to repaint, either. Until Wall Slicks entered my life.   My son picked out the alien theme with the works — background landscape and the aliens to boot.

I tried several of the decals. I had a little trouble getting the Lorax-style trees off the backing, but soon got the hang of it.  Wall Slicks sent some practice decals which I highly suggest using.  Also, pay attention the suggestions about surfaces and helpful hints.

What I loved:

• The colors are bright, vibrant, and super fun.
• The decals have a slick, shiny surface that will make them easy to clean.
• I can pick out one or two of the colors as a focal point and work around it.
• The decals can be easily changed as my son grows.

Now, here’s the downside. When I applied the first cutie-pie alien to the wall, I instantly knew. The walls must be repainted.  Have you ever bought a cute pair of shoes and then needed to buy a new outfit because nothing in your closet was worthy of the shoes?  That’s how I feel about these wall decals.  They’re so fun that they don’t deserve the poop brown walls.  So now, I have a new summer project.  My son requested green walls with the alien background. For once, I’m really excited about decorating!
