When my great-grandmother passed away, her nursing home gave the family a hardcover Bible in her memory.  The Bible was placed in a beautiful wooden box with her picture inside of it.  My grandmother gave it to me, knowing that I would treasure it and remember my great-grandmother each time I read it.  I miss her so much and it gives me such a sense of joy to read that Bible, knowing that she read those same words during her long lifetime.   Grief is such a heartrending experience. What I love about most about Hope in the Mourning is that it’s a Bible first and foremost.  While some people might feel angry at God for the pain and loss they’re suffering, it’s not unusual for that hurting soul to seek God’s word in the still of the night.  This isn’t a devotional that was taken from someone else’s perspective.  This is God’s word, holy and pure, waiting to be heard even in those dark hours of grief.  Inspiration and meditations are offered as a sideline.  Resource pages are also included for those who need additional help.
