I am that person who stands in the back of the Hallmark store and laughs out loud at the funny cards. For Mother’s Day, though, I reach for those special sentimental cards that have me weeping before I finish reading them.
In honor of the 100th anniversary of Mother’s Day, Hallmark allowed me to review a few of their new items to share with you. The first thing I opened was the collage frame photo kit in their Pics ‘N’ Props line. Made for busy (and somewhat lazy) moms like me, this creative set comes equipped with a chalkboard and a piece of chalk. They must have seen my Unfinished Project room because this kit was made for ME! I can totally do this for the grandmas in our family and look like a pro.
My mom really loves the cards I send her, especially the mushy gushy ones that tell her how fabulous she is. I think she’s still trying to soothe the burn marks I left on her heart when I was a teenager. So on Mother’s Day I go all out for the embellished, flowy script cards that come with the really pretty envelopes. Hallmark has those, too, thank goodness. I might even have the kids make her a Magic Prints card since that will get me out of at least one lecture. The great thing is that Hallmark cards are practically synonymous with Mother’s Day; I know my mom will smile as soon as she gets my card in the mail. Those 350 miles between us will be bridged for at least a few moments while I send her my love in an envelope.

The Mother’s Day Snippets and Stories Photo Album is a great keepsake….especially for Grandma’s living far away.
Comment for 5/5 Well, I guess it is no surprise that if I know people who are going to be new grandmas, I know people who are going to be new moms….so I think that New Mom mug would be a great gift to give them. Goodness knows a new mom will need plenty of coffee to deal with the sleep deprivation.
The Handprints or Footprints Double Frame is a good idea for new moms with babies, grandmas, and moms of growing kids. We all like to see the hand prints and footprints.
I would get my mom something she would enjoy. a picture frame. She likes looking at pictures.
The Grandkids Magnet would be wonderful for a friend getting ready to have her first grandchild.
I love Hallmark! Their cards are great.
The Cookie Press Set or Magnetic Memo Board would be a great gift. (I kind of want the memo board for myself, though!)

when I was a little girl one of the first things my grandmother taught me to do was turn over the card and look for the ‘gold crown.’ I then began my own greeting card ‘line’ at age 5 and put ‘Jenmark’ on the back of every one. Hallmark is certainly a staple in our family!
I like the Butterfly Crystal Bead Charm because green was Mom’s favorite color and blue is the color for colon cancer awareness.

I’d love to get my mom the silver tree picture display and the five frame set for with it. She loves stuff like that and it’s a beautiful way to display pictures of her family.
