Disclosure: I received this book as a Tommy Mommy blogger. Opinions shared are mine.
A year ago in June, my grandfather succumbed to a long illness. He was always a strong, healthy man who earned the respect of so many. I loved that he used to make me pancakes on his griddle, and how he watched Westerns until he fell asleep. Thanks to his influence, I was able to learn what it meant to be in a for-life marriage with a Christian man. I miss him tremendously! Grandpa Hugs is a sweet reminder of the way that grandfathers love the children in their lives.
Durable and sturdy, this board book has delightful illustrations with fun rhymes. My kids always get a kick out of their grandfather’s corny sense of humor. Grandpa Hugs shares the joy of a grandpa joke! Each page features different animals, and the grandpa looks different each time (glasses, older, etc). It’s a good way to help children understand that grandfathers are all different, just like everyone else.
Celebrate Grandparent’s Day (September 10) with this adorable book, and include a gift certificate for an outing with grandpa. Or, wouldn’t grandpa love getting this book as a way to break the news of a first grandchild? It would also be a good title to donate to the church nursery so that the children could talk about their own families.
One lucky reader will win a copy of Grandpa Hugs, thanks to Tommy Nelson.
