You should have heard the squeals when my kids opened today’s package and found Farming Simulator 17 in the box. Farming Simulator is a really popular game at my house. My son especially enjoys all of the machinery on the game. It’s rated E; I always appreciate games that the whole family can enjoy.

Farming Simulator 17 is available at national retailers including GameStop, Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy.

There are so many ways to incorporate learning through Farming Simulator 17.  Players are encouraged to learn about environmentalism, entrepreneurial opportunities, and learn how to read a map!

Creative thinking and strategic planning skills are developed through this game, too.  While there are prompts that guide the player to certain actions and locations, the player makes decisions about crops, harvesting, and more.  It’s more challenging than it looks, too.  We had fun figuring out the best ways to get efficient crop yields, managing livestock, and how to use farm machinery.

Players have the ability to connect with other players online. We don’t use that feature, but I can see its benefit!   It’s nice to know there are still some games that don’t include violence and weapons.  I have a hard time finding games that are engaging and challenging to the mind, yet suitable to an elementary school child’s understanding.
