Mark your calendar – Dolphin Tale 2 is coming out on September 12! My kids have already been asking to go see the movie. I can’t blame them for wanting to go. It looks amazing! Everyone loves a happy ending, and Winter definitely warmed our hearts in 2011. This sequel takes place several years after the dedicated team at the Clearwater Marine Hospital rescued Winter. Remember how Dr. Cameron McCarthy developed a unique prosthetic tail for the injured dolphin? Saving her life was just the first part of the journey! According to USDA regulations, Winter cannot be housed alone, as dolphins’ social behavior requires them to be paired with other dolphins. When Winter’s surrogate mother passes away, Winter’s grief is increased by the fact that she may be lost to another aquarium. The film celebrates a reunion of the original cast, including Harry Connick Jr., Oscar winner Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, and Kris Kristofferson. Also, Bethany Hamilton makes an appearance!

I really like how many of the stars from the first are in the second like Harry Connick, Jr., Ashley Judd and Nathan Gamble.
I heard rave reviews about the first one and now my oldest is ready for these type of movies. I can’t wait to check out the all star cast with him on a mommy-son date.
My daughter can’t wait to see this movie. She gets out of school early on Thursday. Hmm, maybe this movie would be a great activity.

Dolphin Tale is really touching. Such a warm, caring family movie. It’s one of those that my grandkids enjoy but so does my mom.
