Heading off to school means busy times for families! Here are two items to add to your family’s entertainment library to give the kids something new to enjoy on their free time.
My son has been begging to see Ghost Busters, but it’s too mature for him as of yet. DinoBusters from NCircle Entertainment, however, is perfectly acceptable! The video has a target audience of preschoolers, so this was just a tad on the young side for my son. Still, it’s entertaining for kids of all ages.
The play on the Ghostbusters theme is sweetly executed. Instead of ghosts in the haunted house, the adventurers discover dinosaurs. The episodes are short, perfect for short attention spans. I like that this show encourages kids to use their imaginations in everyday surroundings. Fans of Trek’s Adventures will enjoy this spinoff.
Though we sometimes think our kids should know we love them, some children require a little more assurance. They crave being told that they’re loved, and it’s always nice to know the WHY. The sweet book I Love You Just Because is a new title from Donna Keith that echoes the lessons from her other I Love You books. It illustrates the differences between children without being overtly descriptive. It’s a great way to introduce those concepts to your kids. Verbalizing the “I love you” message is so validating for children, and there’s a message of faith that echoes within these lines. Supported by corresponding scripture, the story is engaging and endearing. There are many family conversations you can start with this book!
