Disclosure: I received these books to review. Opinions shared are mine.
If your kiddo has worked through all the Magic Tree House, Box Car Children, and Junie B. Jones books in the library, never fear. I have a new series to present to you! Channing O’Banning books have a unique charm, along with a life lesson theme. Coming in at around 110 pages (15 chapters), these are perfect to read together as a family, too. Let’s not forget that Channing has a pet pig named Teeny! I wear my pencil in my ponytail just like Channing does, so she was a kindred spirit. Fourth grade has never seemed like so much fun.
In Channing O’Banning and the Rainforest Rescue, the whole family takes a trip to Costa Rica. This exotic locale offers lots of new experiences, but they’re not likely to be things you’ll expect from anyone but Channing! Sibling banter, BFF troubles, and typical tween behavior find their way into this book, making it seem like Channing is a girl from your child’s class. What I love most about this series is the end of the book. Each story has a call to action at the end of it. For example, in this book, there are ways that your child can get involved in saving the rainforest. Nine simple activities and facts help your child take the story to heart.
Channing O’Banning goes on another trip, this time to the American Wild West. In Channing O’Banning and the Turquoise Trail, Channing gets through an embarrassing moment and a misadventure with her Nana’s ring. The Biblical references are short and sparse in these books, but they’re a natural fit when they do appear. This story is a great way to open a door for discussions about how to handle tough situations. The end of the book presents interesting facts about Native Americans. Why not use these to spur a research project about Native Americans who lived in your area?

Just a question for clarification, on your leave a comment section, you ask for non-giveaway comment posts but then it asks for what giveaway you entered. Just wanted to make sure you want the link to our comment and not the name of a giveaway we entered. Hope this makes sense. Sorry to be a problem.
