I’m a page skipper.
Whew, I feel so much better getting that off my chest! My family and friends give me a hard time about it, but it can’t be helped. Sometimes there are books that I just cannot stand waiting to find out what happens. When I find myself rushing through the book in order to get to the end, that’s when it’s necessary to skip ahead and just find out already. Even if I don’t like the ending, the lack of anticipation allows me to enjoy the rest of the story. As you can probably guess, that’s what happened with A Marriage in Middlebury. Anita Higman has become one of my favorite authors as you can tell from the reviews I’ve posted about her books. Her humorous, easygoing writing style just hits the spot with me. The main character, Charlotte, was a kindred spirit from page one. On the other hand, her long-lost love Sam was a doofus.
