Who would have thought that a burger place could make my day? Well, if you know me, it totally can. And did!!! Starting on May 6, KB Burgers on Memorial Blvd. in Kingsport is open 7 DAYS A WEEK!!! If you haven’t been there yet, what in the world are you waiting for?!

KB Burger is a little mom-and-pop type diner on Memorial Blvd. in Kingsport just past the Exxon station off John B. Dennis Hwy. It’s been there as long as I have lived here, and that’s been about 14 years. I couldn’t even find a picture of it online, but was impressed that they do have a Facebook page.

When you go, don’t expect it to be fast food in the sudden sense. There’s no speaker to order through. You must actually order face-to-face either in the drive-thru or if you enter the restaurant. But that’s part of the charm. The food is made fresh for you and it is so totally worth it. And the nice man who owns the restaurant chats it up with you while you wait, if it isn’t too busy inside that is. Meanwhile you get to stare at the menu and think about all the things you’ll get next time. And the prices are so low that you’ll really be tempted to order it all. Especially the part with the ice cream!!

We started talking about it today at lunch and just couldn’t resist, we ended up heading over for a to-go wonder. I got the chili dog (with mustard) and fries. YUM. Best fries ever. My total was $3 even. When was the last time you bought a to-go lunch for $3? They also have amazing hamburgers, my husband loves their bacon cheeseburgers. But the best, absolute best, thing on the menu is the Hot Fudge Cake sundae. Those have always been my favorite dessert, and KB Burgers might just be the best one I’ve ever tried. If you don’t do anything else for your mom on Mother’s Day, at least get her the Hot Fudge Cake sundae. This is your chance to be the favorite child!! Go ahead, treat yourself to a KB burger today, too.
