Just getting everyone out of the house and to the right place each morning was tough. In fact, there was even a day when I took my son to school without any shoes on his feet! He was still a toddler and didn’t wear his shoes to the car; neither his dad nor I noticed that he didn’t have any shoes IN the car. I had to go home and get a pair for him. Our first prize is a copy of the book I Love You All The Same. I received the hardback book and put it on a prized spot on my bookshelf; it’s a book we’ll reach for time and again. This sweet book is great to read with your children when they’re feeling downtrodden by having siblings. I remember my mom telling me that she loved my brother the same amount as she loved me, but I never understood until I had my own kids. I Love You All The Same features a 3-child family in which all the children are different species of bears. It celebrates differences while reassuring children that mom –and God– really does have enough love to go around. The illustrations are gently colored and simply adorable. This is a great book to read on those days when little hearts are feeling extra sensitive. It’s also ideal for families that are expecting a new addition. My husband and son read this book while cuddled in the recliner. It’s the perfect story to accompany discussions about where your child might take such a trip. Imagine the fun you could have together while dreaming up trips in Harold’s balloon! This is an excellent book to practice reading skills like word placement and “reading the picture.” Ask your child to describe the adventure by attending to visual cues on the page; give your child a chance to predict what adventure might come next. Since the verses are in rhyme, many children will quickly memorize the words and can chime in as you read. It’s a fun book to enjoy as a family! The Octonauts are curious little creatures who explore the deep waters of the ocean. There they meet many fascinating creatures. On this DVD, the Octonauts experience problems to which children will relate. For example, when two of the Octonauts get lost, they have to problem-solve until the situation is resolved. My kids love to sing along to the Octonauts tune as well as mimic some of the funnier characters. We take this DVD along in the van to watch while we run errands!

I try to show equal love to both of my grandsons by taking them out together and doing fun activities that include them both, like going to ride their bikes, going to Monkey Joe’s, etc. I also give them an equal value and number of gifts for Christmas.

This book looks perfect for our family!! I have a 3 year old who is a new big sister, it is sometimes hard for her to understand why mommy spends so much time with her baby brother. To make her feel special we try to spend special one on one time with her when we can, for example for the 4th of July my husband and I took her to see fireworks by herself with Nana and Papa watched her baby brother…
