Welcome to the Showers of Books Giveaway Event hosted by I Am A Reader Not A Writer. I love book giveaways because there are always so many new authors that I haven’t read yet. I also enjoy reading the book reviews that are often shared on these giveaway posts. At Savings in Seconds, you have a chance to win a copy of It Happened at the Fair by Deeanne Gist.
.
I just received my copy a few days ago and haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but doesn’t it look so romantic! This book is not released until April 30, 2013, so you have a chance to win a copy hot off the shelves. The setting of the book is the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. I’ve always been so fascinated by the World’s Fair and wish I could have experienced it. In the days before the world was so connected, I imagine that the World’s Fair was a fascinating experience for attendees. Author Deeanne Gist has a really fun website that I hope you’ll visit. If you decide to use It Happened At The Fair in your book group, you can even download and print out discussion guides. There’s much more to behold at her site, so take a few minutes to check it out. You’ll also want to take a peek at her blog too, which has all kinds of interesting info.
One lucky winner will receive It Happened At The Fair! The giveaway is open to US readers ages 18+ (except where prohibited by law.) Good luck!

Tempest in the White City looks good!
I love Spring. It’s when the cold and ice of winter melts away and flowers begin to bloom. The grass becomes green again. The birds chirp in the trees. And the weather warms, which is probably the very best part! So far, I have experienced many April showers. I can’t wait for their inevitable consequence: flowers!
Thanks for the giveaway and Happy Spring!
