I was invited to participate in the Private Selection campaign at BzzAgent.  So excited!  We shop at Kroger fairly often, and I always choose Private Selection products when we have the option.  My favorites are their strawberry preserves and Parmesan cheese wedge (not together, of course.)  The price is great and the quality is fantastic!!!  You can find Private Selection items alongside the national brands on the shelf, so they’re just as convenient to find.

We’ll be entertaining often this summer, so I’m hoping to find some great new recipes to use with the Private Selection line as the main ingredient.    My hubby just got a new grill, so burgers will definitely be on the menu.  YUM!   I think we’ll also try some grilled pizzas using the Parmesan cheese I mentioned.  I also love, love, love using the cheese on my spaghetti.   They have some great options in the ready-made deli salads options, too.

When shopping with my children, I try to point out the different prices on brands.  Private Selection generally offers a comparable product as the name brand food items at a much lower cost.  My children have learned that generic brands and store brands aren’t necessarily inferior quality just because they cost less.  It’s  also interesting to point out differences in packaging and marketing familiarity.
