Every time we drive through Pigeon Forge, my kids ask if we can go to the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud. The building is so eye-catching, you can’t miss it!  We were grateful to receive deeply discounted tickets to attend the dinner show this weekend.  The show was scheduled to start at 5:00 pm; make sure you arrive at least 45 minutes early.  I advise going at least an hour early so that you have time to enjoy the atmosphere before heading in for the show! It was a February afternoon when my son reminded me about the night’s choral performance at school.  No problem, I said.  Since we didn’t have time to run home before the concert, I’d packed a bag with his required clothes — a solid color shirt and denim jeans.  We stopped at a restaurant to eat supper and I sent him to the bathroom to change into his outfit.  Except there was a big problem — his clothes were too small!   [Read more…]

It’s hard to believe that my summer break is almost over!  Somehow those weeks just flew by.  This year we went shopping for school supplies in mid-July to avoid the rush.  My next step?  I like to shop online for the kids’ school clothes, since I can do that from home. [Read more…]

In the early years of our marriage, the hubby and I went to see all of the Lord of the Rings movies together.  The story was so incredible that I read the books, too.  They were hard to push through. The descriptive prose was too much for me at some points.   My fascination with the world of Middle Earth came from the way I imagined Tolkien’s stories.  If you know a Lord of the Rings fan, consider gifting the beautiful Battles of Tolkien book.

Now that we’ve had two great camping trip with our new travel trailer, it’s time for me to share some of our experiences. I hope some of you will get to enjoy camping in the northeast Tennessee area, where we have beautiful mountains and stunning sunsets! My son cheerfully declared, “Everything tastes better at the camper!” and I think he’s right. We’ve had fun finding ways to create delicious meals and snacks with the simple ingredients our camper pantry holds. We’ve worked with Rigoni in the past to create snacks.  When they offered to send us a fresh jar of dairy-free Nocciolata, I knew we had to share our camper’s chocolate covered cheesecake with you!  [Read more…]
