We enjoyed a fun afternoon at The Island in Pigeon Forge during our recent Gatlinburg camping trip.  In fact, we enjoyed it so much we went back the next day!  We landed at The Island by happy accident, since I’d purchased Groupon package for the 7D Dark Ride Adventure.  We saw The Great Smoky Wheel and couldn’t wait to get there.   [Read more…]

Baileyton RV Park & Cabins near Greeneville TN

If you’re traveling on I-81 on the Northeast Tennessee side, and you need a place to stop, consider Baileyton RV & Cabins. We had the pleasure of staying in this campground for one week in July.  It was the first time we’d stayed at a campground without seeing it firsthand, so I was a little wary.  The TripAdvisor reviews were good and they had a high rank with Good Sam. I convinced my husband to give it a try!

That is totally understandable!  This is year 21 for me, so I have my room pretty stocked at this point.  I’ve figured out my teacher must have items, and made sure those were plentiful.  These 3 items made my list.  [Read more…]

Library Love Challenge — anyone can join!

The kids and I have been going to the library all summer.  They love seeing the books that were added each week. I’m impressed with the new furniture and teen-friendly decor the Kingsport library added to the teen’s area.

Paper Pups 3D Coloring Book – the perfect quiet indoor activity

When we went camping in Baileyton a couple of weeks ago, the weather was supposed to be rainy on a couple of days.   I received the book Paper Pups 3D Coloring for review, so I took it along with us for a quiet indoor activity. Just so you know, this post contains affiliate links, so I may earn a small commission if you use the links to make a purchase. Opinions shared are mine.

Paper Pups sounded too fun to pass on to my kids right away, so after they fell asleep, I pulled it out to play.  I was kicking myself for forgetting my markers because he needed to be colored properly before assembly.  Skipping that step, I powered through to create this masterpiece.  [Read more…]

SingleCare FREE service helps you find the best prices on medical care #ad

Disclosure: This post is brought to you by SingleCare. Opinions shared are mine.

My mom did a great job raising two kids on her own. It wasn’t easy to be a single mom in a foreign country, but she worked her fingers to the bone to provide for our little trio. At the time, I didn’t realize how much she must have worried when we fell ill with one sickness or another. You see, my dad held the family’s health insurance, and that luxury went away with the divorce.  That’s why I’m really excited to share SingleCare with you today. Who hasn’t worried about health care costs at some point in their adult lives?  Have you lived the balancing act of figuring out provider networks, deductibles, or coverage limitations? You NEED to know about your SingleCare option.
