If you are a reader who likes anecdotes and personal stories, you’ll want to read When The World Goes Crazy (Life’s Outtakes – Year 1): 52 Humorous And Inspirational Stories From Year One. These 52 stories are sometimes funny, sometimes sad, always something to remember. I liked the down-to-earth conversational tone of the book. Each “outtake” is only a few pages long so it’s the perfect book to take along for a layover at the airport or reading at the doctor’s office. They kind of remind me of those short stories in Guideposts or Reader’s Digest…the ones that left me with something to think about. I’m sure you’ll find more than one story that you can relate to in this book.
The second book I received to review was Super Cowboy Rides. This is a hilarious book, just perfect for read-together family time! The chapters are short enough to enjoy after dinner or before bed. I love reading stories like this with my kids because the book cultivates imagination and curiosity. Super Cowboy Rides waxes nostalgic on the days of yesteryear when kids still played Cowboys and Indians without adults worrying about being politically incorrect. The antics of young Tommy are sure to put a smile on your face. It’s a great opportunity to share stories of your own childhood with your kids. This book appeals to girls as well as boys, despite the cover (my own 8-year-old daughter loved the story but initially didn’t want to read it because of the cover.) Teachers, consider this book for the reluctant readers in your classroom.

I have read most of Daris Howards books. I can not pick a favorite. They are all my favorites. Keep writing and I will keep buying and reading.
