Some people can prepare for the holidays over the course of a few days, or even weekends. Since I tend to procrastinate, my holiday preparations are typically completed over the course of a few hours (and usually limited to a Saturday). This is our first Christmas in our new home, so we’re finding new places for our favorite decor. From hanging wreaths to reaching into closets, my outfit was stylish and chic, thanks to Monroe and Main! For my daytime errands and activities, I wore the Crossover Rib Sweater (in cashmere) and the Knit Denim Legging. It was tough to select my pieces because there were so many items I loved in the Monroe and Main holiday collection. In the end, I decided to go with pieces that would be comfortable for everyday wear, as well as holiday gatherings.
The lightweight Crossover Rib Sweater is a dream to wear. Even with all the bending and lifting I did while getting the house ready for the holidays, I never felt overheated. That’s a major accomplishment, let me tell you! As I set up the nativity scene on our dining room buffet, the sweater felt cozy and comfortable. The gathered sleeves were roomy, and I loved the collared neck. It’s long enough to cover me up in the areas that make me self-conscious. Monroe and Main is the industry leader when it comes to providing women with various sizes for different body types. This means that I can always count on them for stylish items in my curvy-mama size! I could easily wear this outfit to work by just changing to dress pants! Paired with a simple silver necklace and earrings, this is my ideal weekend wear.
Crewneck sweaters usually feel too tight around my neck, and I didn’t have that problem with the Crossover Rib Sweater. The touch of cashmere makes this such a luxurious garment. It would make a wonderful gift for a special someone on your list! Wear it to holiday gatherings or just to enjoy a good book by the fire this winter.
My decorating tasks wrapped up by evening, so I had just enough time to run out for dinner with my family. Wanting to freshen up a bit, I changed into the Take It To The Limit Tunic. This piece comes in black and teal; I opted for teal. It’s perfect over the Knit Denim Leggings as a casual outfit, but you could also pair it with black leggings for a sleek look.
The long handkerchief hem on the tunic makes it a total standout. The hem reaches to my knees! It’s as soft as butter, with just a touch of stretch. The elegant fabric drapes beautifully over my jeans. I love that the neckline is modest without being too high. It’s just right for wearing a statement necklace or pendant. To go out for the evening, I accessorized with a silver bar necklace and silver earrings. A simple leather fringed bag and a sparkly pair of flats kept it low-key. I went with neutral shades in my makeup, but you could also glam it up with really bold shadow or eyeliner.
