A few weeks ago, I had a chance to try Blurb’s new Designer Photo Book Templates.   I’m completely lazy and haven’t been ambitious enough to make one of these at the drugstore, although I’ve always said I would.  Make a photo book while sitting in my pajamas and drinking a Coke?  Sure!   I registered for a free Blurb account in just a few seconds.

My book is a tribute to our family’s October trip to Orlando.  I included pictures from the airport (kids with suitcases, happy faces, totally fun.)  The book chronicles our vacation and fun memories.  I’ve been using online photo services for years now, but rarely add photos to my accounts because they take so daggone long to upload.  I was so surprised with Blurb.  The upload time was minimal and I was able to choose from the pictures without having to go through multiple screens, clicking in and out, and all of that mess.  It was easy to add text, change the look of the photo, and add pages. The prices start at $12.99 for 20 pages (even with the designer template.) Oh, and there are small details such as adding text to the spine of the book, and cover pages that just add to the final look of the photo book.  I added the optional dust jacket to mine, and used my kids’ pictures inside.  I wrote some of their favorite rides and restaurants. They loved how it looked like they were authors!
