A few weeks ago while sitting in an inservice, one of my colleagues shared some of her amazing Pinterest-worthy decor projects with me.  Seriously, she needs to start her own DIY blog because she is the envy of all of us.  Her classroom is always cute, colorful, and fun to be in.  (I told her I’d give her a shout out…. this one’s for you, Cristy!)  My room, on the other hand, looks as barren as a college classroom in comparison.  It seems that God ran out of the decorating gene when he got to me.  My biggest decor item is the glitter letters that were purchased on a whim at Hobby Lobby.   One of my teammates has an owl collection and is always getting some adorable new thing to make her room seem so cozy.  Again, it makes me feel quite inadequate when it comes to the decor.  So I am now perusing the funky offerings at ModCloth.  Their Retro & Cute Apartment Decor section is actually perfect for the classroom.  Wouldn’t a teacher who grew up in the 80’s love this Pacman stapler?!

If you’ve sent your barely-an-adult child off to college this year, why  not make his day by sending a funky gift from ModCloth to say, “I’m thinking of you.”   Maybe that dorm room doesn’t seem quite like home just yet.  Having a great conversation piece right on the wall is a way to break the ice.
