Let’s talk about kids and swimming.  Few things make a child’s eyes light up in the summer as much as a cool pool on a hot day.  The splashing, the laughing, and the blissful exhaustion of a swim day are the glories of childhood.  Unfortunately inexperienced swimmers can nearly give their mothers a heart attack by dipping into the water just a millimeter.  We have an inground pool so my kids swim daily, sometimes two or three times per day.  My daughter is a little mermaid and needs only adult supervision to stay safe.  My son has a false sense of security in the pool.  He took a swim class and now is completely fearless.  The water is still too deep for him, so I rely on swim aids to help keep him afloat.  He’s quite determined that he no longer needs “baby” floaties or water wings.   I had to rely on some sneaky mom maneuvers to convince him that he’s being a big boy in the pool, but also to provide me with a little peace of mind.  I have enough gray hairs, after all!!  Thankfully i.d.i. gear sent me a Swimeez swimsuit to try.   Floatability swim protection from Swimeez — plus 60% off discount for savings?!  Bingo!!

SWIMEEZ floatability is a mom's peace of mind. savingsinseconds.com With Swimeez, the buoyancy is trapped within the fabric of the swimsuit.  Since there’s no way to “deflate” the suit, floatability is maximized.  The interior lining is called “Insultex” which means that micro-air cells are trapped within the fabric.   It’s slightly firm yet comfortable.  The interior lining is soft as can be, so the suit just slides over dry skin.  The zipper just glides right up, so it’s easy enough for a young child to independently dress for the pool.  Because it offers unrestricted mobility, the Swimeez makes swimming a real joy for both mom and child!   Keep in mind that the suit pictured above is a boy’s suit.  The girl’s Swimeez is quite traditional in style, cut like a regular swimsuit at the leg openings.

SWIMEEZ swim aids can be used on children ages 2-10 years old. savingsinseconds.com My son likes his Swimeez because he feels like he’s got freedom.  I can relax a bit knowing that he’s going to stay afloat.   Be sure to read the sizing chart carefully—there are separate sizes for toddlers and children.  I ordered a size larger than necessary so that we can use this for other children who visit our pool.   For children who are hesitant to get in the water, this could offer an added measure of confidence as they develop their swimming skills.  Now, let’s talk about maintenance.  Swimeez is machine washability (told you it was great for moms!) and needs to hang dry.  Remember that the Swimeez does not replace adult supervision.  You’ll still need to keep an eye on your kids while they’re in or around the pool, of course.  You can just breathe a little easier knowing that they can enjoy swimming while wearing the Swimeez. Swimeez has Insultex technology. savingsinseconds.com

Savings in Seconds readers can get a substantial discount on Swimeez orders using code sis at checkout.   Swimeez retails for $39.99 but this code brings the price down to only $15.99!  That’s a savings of 60% off the retail price.   Wow!  You can also save on shipping by buying multiple suits (shipping charges will be $9.99 for the first piece, and $4.99 for each additional piece.)     Please show your appreciation for i.d.i. gear by following them on Facebook.  Check them out for all of your outdoor gear!

I like how unobstructive, or ‘obvious’ this is as protective swimwear. I also can’t believe that sale price- this is a Summer must have!

  11. This is a great style for the little ones. Looks so much cooler than bulky vests

My kids were raised around the water. Swimming daily, we also boat and scuba dive. Some kids aren’t good swimmers but still love the water. I like that they are making products to protect he kids and still let them have fun in the water.
