I’ve gotta be honest…reading Fizz Boom Bath! made me wonder what I had going on in my brain at 10 years old. My focus definitely wasn’t as ambitious as these creative entrepreneurial sisters! I have no doubt that Isabel and Caroline Bercaw have big success in their futures.
Delightfully readable, this is more than a how-to book. Fizz Boom Bath! is a why not? story. These two ladies created a business, da Bomb Bath Fizzers, and make it sound like child’s play. Each recipe features gorgeous photography and a list of ingredients. The step-by-step instructions seem easy to follow, too. I love that each recipe utilizes commonly found ingredients, with most of the items likely sitting in your pantry. You can easily order ingredients like citric acid online, so there’s nothing inaccessible here. This book could be incorporated into a homeschool lesson plan, or an after school program project!
The book describes how to make more than just bath bombs, though. Face masks, scrubs, and lotion bars are presented in a fun, you-can-do-this manner. It would make a great gift for a teen who loves bath and body products. Load it up with some ingredients so they can get started right away! As for me, I’m inclined to try the Bug Off insect repellent bar because the mosquitoes ring their dinner bell when I walk outside!
Fizz Boom Bath! is a well-written, inspiring cookbook that is perfect for anyone who likes to engage their creative side. It’s also sure to inspire young readers to try their hand at making handmade gifts. One lucky reader will win a copy of Fizz Boom Bath! thanks to Quarto Knows!
