Playing dress-up always seemed like a game for girls to me.  It’s not really limited to age, since most women I know still like to get all glammed up for a night on the town.  But I never really considered dress up as a game that boys would enjoy.  That is, until my son came along.  He definitely likes to get into character.  From basic costumes like a hard-hat to pretend he’s a construction worker, to a lab coat that a doctor would wear, he loves to assume a different character and role play with his sister.  We keep Halloween costumes in a special dresser drawer so that he can pull them out anytime.  He often dresses like Spiderman to play around the house or as a Leading Character in Nintendo Video Game (Luigi).  It’s a creative way to make the cold winter days a bit more fun.

Playing with costumes all year round makes so much more sense for the kids.  After all, why only play dress up on one night of the year?  It’s easy to find costumes that little boys will love.  This costume was super fun because it comes with cool accessories.  The costume included a stick-on mustache, a pair of white gloves, a hat, and a hilarious inflatable belly.  It’s easy for my son to pull the costume on by himself then we stick the velcro tabs on the back.  One thing I like about Costume Discounters is that the sizing is absolutely perfect for us.  I can order by his age and it always fits.  The colors of this costume are bright and vivid.  The small details like the bold yellow buttons just make it fun.  He’s been wearing this costume while he rides his Plasma Car which cracks me up.  I think we might even use that as a prop for Halloween.

Shopping for a character costume at Costume Discounters is super easy.  You can just type in what you’re looking for and narrow down your search with the click of your mouse.  Find your favorite characters from Nintendo at a glance and you could even have the whole family dressed up!

  1. Cute! My youngest boy loves to be a ninja or a power ranger

My kids always enjoyed dressing up all yearlong too. So much fun to pretend to be something/someone else

  3. My son loves his Super Mario costume as well. Fun days can always be had when acting like Mario or Luiggi!

  4. We love dress up here in our home! My son is a big Batman fan, so that’s who he dresses up as most of the time, while my girl is all about the Disney Princesses and being a super hero, so her dresses and cape get a workout each week.
