Tear Me Apart has everything a 4 star book would have.  In this case, it’s a family drama (which I love) and suspense (always a favorite.)  For some reason, I kept waiting for The Big Moment.  It seemed to be just around the corner….for so long….until I realized I was the last one in line.   [Read more…]

My kids love puzzle and problem-solving games.  For me, it justifies giving them some screen time.  It’s a good way for them to have some downtime after homework or on weekends, and makes them think!  Tyler Model 005 reminds me a little bit of their favorite exploration game, Unravel.  Rated E, this one is clean and creative.  It’s also story-based, which makes the game more personal and really fun to play. That is not meant to be a morbid question. It’s a proven fact that all of us will die at some point (unless you’re Enoch or Elijah, then you get to skip that step).  Auschwitz Lullaby by Mario Escobar made me consider how I want to be remembered.  I want my children to remember my love, my husband to remember my devotion, and the world to know I tried to leave it a better place than how I found it.

Recently we discovered that our favorite Ryan’s Buffet location is closed.  Apparently, it was a sudden closure.  We’d traveled to Greeneville, TN to eat there and do some back-to-school shopping.  Thankfully, there’s a Ryan’s restaurant in Asheville, NC so we will plan to visit that one soon.  Family Night at Ovation Brands’ portfolio of restaurants – Old Country Buffet, Ryan’s, Hometown Buffet, Country Buffet – and Furr’s Fresh Buffet are fun to enjoy with the whole clan!  This month, they’re rolling out a new Family Night promotion featuring the popular children’s TV series, StoryBots.
