Let’s face it.  Fairy tales wouldn’t be any fun without villains!  In the book Disney Villains – The Evilest of Them All, Disney villains are featured in creative, creepy illustrations.  Is there a more perfect month than October to celebrate these vile beings?

This year, my son discovered the Who Was? series on Netflix.  Some of my former students made me aware of the book series, too, so I showed the books to my son. He could not wait to get his hands on them!  This is a boy who usually has to be forced to read for 20 minutes each day, so I was more than happy to provide him with his own copies. [Read more…]

Spirit of God Illustrated Bible tour @audrajennings

Disclosure: I received a copy of this Bible as part of the tour. Post contains affiliate links to the book page; if you make a purchase, I may earn commission. Opinions shared are mine.

Yesterday I was able to spend a fun evening out with my sister.  We don’t often get together without the kiddos.  We made a Target stop (of course), and I spied The Spirit of God Illustrated Bible on the book aisle shelf.  If it caught my eye, don’t you think the kids would like to look at it, too?

Hand Lettering Project Book – great for classrooms, Etsy, and crafters

“Early finishers” is a term many teachers can understand.  When students are given an independent task to complete, there will inevitably be some children who finish before everyone else — and they need something to do.  It shouldn’t be a punishment to “finish” early, so many teachers offer enrichment opportunities for students who need that little extra push.  In my classroom this year, I’m going to offer my students the chance to learn hand lettering techniques!

Fall DVDs from NCircle Entertainment – The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot season 2

Disclosure: I am an NCircle Brand Ambassador and received free DVDs.  Opinions shared are mine.

Though we haven’t yet enjoyed fall temperatures here in east TN, it’s been raining…and raining…and raining.  On the way to school today, I happened to see a rainbow reflected in a passing car’s rear window.  It was a bright spot in a dreary-weather day!  If you’re stuck in the house during these rainy days, check out these NCircle Entertainment DVDs.  At least the kids can learn while they’re trapped indoors!  In fact, The Cat in the Hat knows a lot about that!

Nielsen-Massey transformed my banana bread

Disclosure: I received a product sample to try. Opinions shared are mine.

A missionary once visited my summer camp.  As a child, he was adopted by a missionary who took in over 60 orphans.  He told us that in Korea, bananas were an extravagant treat that they received once a year. When he moved to the US to attend college, he was shocked by the surplus of bananas we enjoyed!  Every since, I’ve had a guilty conscience if ever a banana is wasted at my house.  Banana bread is such a simple quick bread that it’s a shame to throw out ripe bananas.  Though I’ve been mixing up this recipe for years, a fresh bottle of Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract thoroughly enriched dessert.   [Read more…]

Little Women film review @littlewomenfilm #ad

Disclosure:  I was compensated for this post. Opinions shared are mine.

This weekend I went to my 25th high school reunion.  It’s hard to believe that 25 years has passed!  Looking back, we were just babies.  It is so hard to imagine that time, when the future seemed so uncertain yet hopeful.  Maybe that’s why Little Women has charmed readers for so long.  The March sisters’ youthful energy, dogged ambition, and innocent naivete reminds us of days long past. Swiffer Continuous Clean saves me time and money #swiffer #continuousclean

Disclosure: I received a product sample for posting. Opinions shared are mine.

Here’s what happens at my house, see if it sounds familiar.  My house stays dusty, yet I have less time to clean than ever!  Thankfully, Swiffer sent me the new Continuous Clean air cleaning system.  Designed to keep room surfaces clean for a longer period of time, it’s like the magic wand I’ve always wanted.  Let’s cross our collective fingers that it reduces the dust from those kids and pets!  Maybe I won’t have to spend my Fall Break with a duster.

I’m a mom, wife, and middle school teacher.  Basically, I run on coffee and hope.  My coffee drinking habit started 4 years ago when my morning commute increased by 30 minutes.  Iced water just wasn’t doing the trick!  Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to the rescue!
