Over winter break, our family went to Ryan’s buffet twice….and the kids have already wondered when we can go back. My husband always looks forward to their fried chicken (last time, he said it was the BEST). My son double-fists the pillow soft rolls slathered in honey butter. He and I fill up on popcorn shrimp, and I adore the restaurant’s fried okra. My daughter looks for potato soup, and usually makes a soft taco. We all love the dessert variety, and I taught my kids how to make the perfect tip on an ice cream cone. One of my favorite Dave Ramsey tips is this common sense information…. Christmas comes at the same time every year. It’s always December 25. Theoretically, it should be easy to plan (budget) for that, right? My husband and I need to go through the Financial Peace workbook again because we have fallen by the wayside. It would be so nice to start the new year with extra cash in our pockets! What do you think about winning $350 in the January Cash giveaway?
Our school schedule was odd this year, letting us out for winter break later than other area school systems. The benefit? We still have a few days off while everyone else is going back this week. It’s frigid outside, and my heat pump is struggling to keep up with single-digit temperatures. Today, we all stayed in the fluffy blankets and found something quiet to do. I read Final Girls, which has been on my TBR for months.

Happy 2018, everyone! I hope you celebrated the new year with loved ones and friends. Our family watched the ball drop on TV, then I immediately headed for my pillow. Oh, the days when I would have stayed up late celebrating the new year!
