I opened the Watching You mailer and just intended to read a couple of chapters. Two hours later, I’d read half the book. I had to force myself to go to sleep.

The next night, which was Thursday, I carefully considered how many hours of sleep I would need to get through Friday. You know what? Totally worth it! I finished the book and went to sleep a happy reader.

The characters, mystery, and slowly-unveiled developments were near perfection. Each chapter was short enough to have depth, yet not so long that I wanted it to end. I learned a lot, too….there were so many British words that I had to look up!   There’s a significant amount of strong profanity in the story, too.  Most of the intimate scenes are mild and not too graphic.

Watching You goes down as one of my 2018 favorites!  This was the first Lisa Jewell book I’ve read.  My wishlist just got a lot bigger, though.  Suspense and thriller plots are my current favorite, and when they’re a twisty family drama it’s even better.
