I blame Lisa Unger’s Under My Skin for my sleepless night.   Also, the fact that I read it on my Kindle app.  The little timeline down at the bottom corner kept me pushing the pace.  When it says “4 hrs 22 min left in this book,” it feels like a challenge.

The Unger-bug hit me when the Sleep Tight Motel popped up as a free book in the Prime library.  It was a neat, tidy paranormal that had me searching for more Unger titles!

So, that’s how Under My Skin came to be my book of choice last night.  I loved the immediate mystery that unfolded within the first few pages.  Poppy’s sweet friend Layla reminded me of my BFFsis Ali.  This book has lots of opposing reviews, and it’s understandable.  The story is confusing, but that all serves a purpose. I can see that it’s not for everyone.  I loved it, though!

It’s challenging to properly review Under My Skin without giving away too much.  People who enjoy Riley Sager, Peter Swanson, and Mary Kubica are likely to enjoy this one.
