I used to think I was the only one who was swamped with laundry.  In my mind, all the other moms were able to keep up with it all, but my baskets overfloweth with laundry dirty or clean.  When you consider all of the clothes, towels, and outerwear that comes with a family, it can easily get to be too much!  Then when you add the bedding from three beds….well, it’s enough to make me crawl back into the dirty sheets in bed.  So thank goodness for Miracle Sheets!

National Geographic is known for their amazing photography and unsurpassed educational content.  Likewise, National Geographic Kids Weird But True! books hit the mark in terms of quality while being totally kid-friendly.

You won’t be surprised AT ALL that I suggest giving books for Christmas!  If you have a tween girl on your gift list, I highly recommend the Dork Diaries series.  These books are very popular with my 6th grade students.  It’s similar to Diary of a Wimpy Kid in style; the story is told through doodles and comic strips.  This is a great series for kids who enjoy the Smile series by Raina Telgemeier, too.

The other day, the universe played a little trick on me just to see if I was paying attention.  I was placing a normal Amazon order…can’t even remember what it was for.  I definitely did not need whatever-it-was in a hurry.  Amazon offered me $5 off any print book if I agreed to No-Rush shipping.  Well, heck yeah!  Ebooks are the worst, so I immediately scoured my Goodreads wishlist to see what print book I’ve been just dying for.   It’s a ridiculously huge list.   Here’s what I finally decided upon — Ghost Gifts by Laura Spinella.

Two months ago, we made a necessary trip to Nashville for my husband’s medical testing.  Instead of securing a hotel room, we decided to take the camper.  After all, our family loves to spend a weekend at a campground!  We had a few snags along the way and ended up arriving much later than expected.  It was beyond dark, and my husband had to do all the hook ups with limited light.  He had a headlamp but it didn’t illuminate enough for him to see where he needed light.  I held my phone’s flashlight up for him, but just couldn’t get it in the right spot for him.  We were both frustrated by the time we finally got settled in.  Oh, how the OVLED headlamp would have helped!

For me, Christmas stockings are a favorite part of our family’s holiday tradition.  I try to include “fun stuff” but also look for items my kids actually need.  A new water bottle is always appreciated by my kids.
