Welcome to the “Get Green For Spring” Blog Hop Event hosted by Mommy’s Favorite Things and Mama’s Baby Cupcakes.
All of the prize packages in this giveaway are color-related……for example, the prizes are either green in color or green/earth friendly for the environment.  There are so many blogs participating that your chances of winning are really good—enter away!
Be sure to check out the Grand Prize at Mommy’s Favorite Things for a chance to win a $250 Gift Certificate for Cellular Window Shades as seen in the above photo.   What a great way to keep costs down and look great in the process…….window treatments always dress up a room!

When we were expecting our first baby, we wanted a green room.  Somehow the paint I selected ended up being a bright lime green rather than the soothing grass that I envisioned.  When we saw green light emanating from under the bedroom door in the morning, we knew that it was the wrong color and would have to be done again.   Savings in Seconds is decor-challenged, as I’ve mentioned before.  Finding inspiration from photos and books is just about the only way I can decorate my home.  It’s not that I don’t appreciate the beauty of a well-decorated home…I just can’t envision it on my own.  The psychology of color and texture has always interested me, so I was eager to read What’s Color Got to Do With It?.    This guide to paint color ideas can help you create balance and harmony in your home just by providing the background about color choices.   If you’ve been toying with thoughts of brightening a kitchen or subduing a bedroom’s walls, this is the book for you.  This book is also written in completely understandable language….it’s something that you can pick up and read in a day, or stash it in your bag to take along to the home improvement store.    I will also mention that this book can save you time and money by helping you to only have to paint ONCE!   I speak from experience on this one…remember my story about painting the nursery?  This book would have saved our marriage a lot of turmoil on that day.

Although this book really focuses on paint color options, you can adapt the concepts to the rest of the room.  Try using the ideas in the book when selecting drapery, bedding, pillows, and other coordinating pieces.   What’s Color Got to Do With It? makes it simple to understand your unique style and helps to make it a natural fit for your home.  Author Jeanette Chasworth, also known as The Color Whisperer, is offering one lucky reader a copy of the book!
The winner of this giveaway will also win a “Make Your Own Gummies” Kit from Glee Gum.  We made this one evening with the kids and learned a lot about the benefits of seaweed!  The entire time we were making the recipe, I kept thinking how much my students would have loved doing this when I used to teach science.  Biodiversity, chemical reactions, states of matter….I can think of so many ways to incorporate this kit into a science lesson plan!  Even if you just make them for the fun of it, what a great craft for a cold spring evening!
This giveaway is open to US readers ages 18+ (except where prohibited by law.) Enter using the Rafflecopter form below.  Good luck!
