When our house was larger and could accommodate more guests, we were typically the hosts for family visits.  I always appreciated it when guests brought a ready-to-serve hostess gift of food.  With kids running around underfoot all the time, extra snacks never went to waste!  Sometimes the guests brought a new toy for the kids.  It was so generous and completely unnecessary, but worked like magic to help the kids stay entertained during the adults’ long catch-up sessions.

I’m not sure why, but it always surprises me when a debut author presents an amazing story like Engraved on the Heart.  In her first novel, author Tara Johnson creates a powerful figure in Keziah Montgomery.  It’s a fresh look at Christian fiction.  This would make a wonderful gift for the reader on your gift list!

I opened the Watching You mailer and just intended to read a couple of chapters. Two hours later, I’d read half the book. I had to force myself to go to sleep.

The next night, which was Thursday, I carefully considered how many hours of sleep I would need to get through Friday. You know what? Totally worth it! I finished the book and went to sleep a happy reader.
