Welcome to the Blog Tour & Giveaway for The Unexpected Champion by Mary Connealy with JustRead Publicity Tours! It’s been a while since I had the chance to enjoy one of Mary’s books. The Unexpected Champion is delightful, with quirky characters and a spunky plot. This is book 3 in a series.
Penny, the main character, cracked me up. Even her internal dialogue was funny. I love that she didn’t take misfortune as a right of passage. When she wasn’t happy, she held her ground, whether it was with romance or in danger. John was a perfect match for her wild ways. He was balanced when she went topsy turvy.
This story stands out from the rest because the action happens after the action. You’d think the kidnapping was the big event, but it’s not. Instead, Connealy uses the unexpected to draw John and Penny closer.
The Unexpected Champion is the type of book I enjoy when I want a little relief from the rest of the world. It’s clean, wholesome, yet anything but boring. I’ll take this over TV any day!
