For all the years I’ve been blogging, my Someday Dream has been to work with Disney. Our family holds our Disney vacation memories so dear. My son learned to walk at The Grand Floridian; my daughter discovered how deeply music touched her heart while we walked in Norway at Epcot. Disney is where my husband is finally able to relax and enjoy himself, far away from the daily worries and stress of work and life. For now, getting to share A Day at Disney is the closest thing I can do that resembles a Disney partnership!

My kids love their collection of Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom cards!

This book is a Disney lover’s dream! It contains vivid, full-color photos with exciting behind-the-scenes information about the world’s Happiest Place. We enjoy meeting cast members at Disney World. A Day at Disney deepens that experience by explaining how all the magic comes together by these dreamers and visionaries.

I plan to take this book to my classroom so my students can enjoy it. Many children in my school will never have the chance to visit a Disney park, so giving them the chance to enjoy the magic through a book is a way to share Disney with them. Who knows? Maybe the book will inspire one of my students to be a future Disney employee! (Here’s a secret….I already have one former student who’s living her life as a Princess at Disney World!)

Title: ONE DAY AT DISNEY

Author: Bruce Steele, Bob Iger (Introduction)

Pub. Date: December 3, 2019

Publisher: Disney Editions Deluxe

Formats: Hardcover

Pages: 224

Discover what it’s like to report to work every day for The Walt Disney Company. Step behind the scenes to immerse yourself in one “ordinary” day at Disney. In addition to the book, the Disney+ team was on hand to capture stories along the way. A full-length documentary and 52 short-form episodes expand the profiles and delve deeper into the essence of what it’s like to be a Disney cast member.

On a Thursday in 2019, a small army of photographers and videographers scattered across the globe to capture what goes on beyond those tantalizing “Cast Members Only” doors – whether eavesdropping on historic endeavors or typical tasks. All the photos in this book were taken on that single Thursday, beginning early in Tokyo and following the sun around the world through Shanghai, Hong Kong, Paris, Madrid, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, and dozens of places throughout the United States. More than 40 hours after it began, the day ended as the sun set on the Aulani resort in Hawaii.

On that day, some 80 Cast Members agreed to open up their workshops, dressing rooms, kitchens, cubicles, TV studios, labs, locomotive engines – and some even more surprising and diverse work spaces. They also shared their stories: childhood dreams and chapters, career pivots and triumphs, workaday hurdles and joys. It was just a day in the life, as extraordinary as any other day at Disney. As any Cast Member can tell you, a Disney job is less a destination than a limitless journey. And for just One Day at Disney, we can all tag along for the ride.

  20. Hi Dede

I know the giveaway has sadly passed, but thank you so much for sharing the info on the book. It sounds amazing! I’ve actually had 2 different friends who worked for Disney over the years and they both raved about their time there.

One of the craziest cast member experiences we had was visiting WDW in both 2010 and again in 2013. My middle daughter LOVES Belle and was excited to see her and meet here. Of course, we did and got her picture with Belle on both trips.

When I got home and compared the 2 pics, I was astonished that it was the same cast member playing Belle in both pics. So awesome.

    Thanks for sharing.
