Disclosure: I received a free book from the publisher. Opinions shared are mine.

My sister gave me her old Kindle and I’ve been blazing through the ebooks. Before this, I’d been reading ebooks on my phone. Considering I have to have the font on supersize, it used to take me forever.  Dear Wife by Kimberly Belle was a wonderful treat of a read in the most menacing way!

I don’t often compare novels to other books, but Dear Wife reminded me of Gone Girl in some ways.  It has some twisty parts that come as a shock, characters that draw the reader in, and a rush of action that will make your heart race!  There were some parts of the story that I figured out along the way, but it was wonderfully suspenseful to see how the ending would play out.

Dear Wife laid bare the intimacies of fractured marriage.  Its dark themes unveil in bits and pieces, so that you’re almost caught off guard when big moments happen.   This psychological thriller made me consider how you never really know what goes on behind closed doors.

After reading Dear Wife, I couldn’t stop thinking about the struggles that battered women face.  The huge obstacles of escape aren’t always the only barriers to leaving an abusive situation.  It’s also the fear of getting caught.  This book made me so grateful for my sweet, kind husband.  It also made me feel more compassion for those who don’t have a loving marital situation.  Dear Wife proves that there might be worse things than a bad marriage!
