Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book. Opinions shared are mine.

My daughter is the queen of punniness.  She loved the book Born to Pun that Ulysses Press sent.  With 1400 one-liners, this book is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of punsters.

In my everyday life as a teacher, puns are a fun way to keep kids engaged without being sarcastic or crude.  It’s also entertaining to see them think about a pun for a moment, then counter with their own quips.  Instead of criticizing a student for making a spelling error, especially with homophones, it’s far more effective to get them to smile when they realize they’ve made a joke with the misspell!

It’s also great to arm an awkward child with a few puns. Though they might get some eye rolls or groans, the overall effect is better than someone teasing them.  You may need to filter some of the jokes since this book is geared more toward adult life.  Smart teens are especially keen on this type of word play humor, though.

So, with that, we hope you have a Hoppy Easter!  Enter to win a copy of Born to Pun thanks to Ulysses Press.  The giveaway form is located below; the contest is open to US readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law. Good luck!
