If you’re a fan of historical fiction, Jane Kirkpatrick needs to have a reserved spot on your bookshelf. Her books are phenomenal — well-researched and eloquently written. All She Left Behind was everything I could have wanted! I was so thrilled to receive this as my Blind Read match.
Initially, Jennie’s story appealed to me because I’m quite interested in healing through natural remedies. My mother-in-law uses herbs and essential oils, and she has convinced me of their effectiveness in many situations. I was very impressed by Jennie’s determination and passion regarding nature’s healing properties. Though she felt inferior because of her learning disabilities, Jennie was an intelligent woman. Her “kind” of smart is developed through experience and determination. That’s what impressed me so much about her character.
This story was so sad, yet tremendously inspiring. Jennie’s heartbreak just seemed insurmountable, but she didn’t let her troubles keep her from pursuing her dreams. The depth of her character was supported by the people who truly cared for her.
All She Left Behind is a true treat of historical fiction.
I love historical fiction and this looks great.
