World Vision changes gift giving #SantasComing #giveaway - savingsinseconds.com
When was the last time that you bought a life-saving gift with a click of your mouse?

What gift do you give someone who seems to have everything? Or, for a person who doesn’t really want anything? Our family is so blessed that we don’t really need more trinkets or gadgets. Our basic needs are abundantly met every day. Not every family is so fortunate, though. There are mothers who struggle to find enough food to feed their children. There are children who don’t have access to clean water. These survival obstacles tend to happen in other countries, but some families here in the U.S. also meet tremendous hurdles. Thanks to World Vision, it’s possible to bless those families with much-needed supplies in honor of a friend or family member. I was invited to select an item from the 2015 World Vision Gift Catalog, I knew you’d want to know about this amazing opportunity to change a life.  Making a gift through World Vision’s Gift Catalog is so simple that you might never step foot in a crowded mall on Black Friday again.

World Vision offers options for every gift-giving budget.  I love that the catalog includes actual gift items, such as this beautiful necklace, as well as non-tangible gift alternatives. Jewelry and household items make a wonderful choice for a special woman in your life, and the gift helps to improve the lives of children all around the world. For example, the upcycled serving bowls are made by a fair-trade artisan group in India. The women who work in this group help to improve their children’s educations through the program. These gifts change lives!

Instead of buying an actual gift, why not consider an honorary donation? You can “Gift a Goat” to a family across the world. The goat provides that family with a steady supply of milk, while the gift recipients have the warm fuzzies knowing that they helped a total stranger. Even small children can appreciate the fact that they might not be able to have a chicken in their yard, so the children of World Vision will keep those chickens safe. In turn, the chickens will provide that family with food and a chance to trade goods.

When I looked through the World Vision catalog, I was just overwhelmed by how blessed I am. I’ve never had to worry about keeping my children warm in a hut; our running water has always been clean and fresh. It also amazed me that World Vision can offer help to families at such a reasonable price. Yes, $1862 is a lot of money to donate, but it also buys a lot! It provides an impoverished Mongolian family with a safe, warm furnished home. I definitely couldn’t do that with $1800. After reading more, I found that the reason World Vision is able to do this is because of corporate donations. Your gift multiplies as much as 12 times! So that $25 donation becomes $300 worth of school supplies. Talk about a serious bargain!

One lucky reader will win the same beautiful Balinese Multi-Strand Necklace that I received. To enter, visit the form below. Giveaway is open to US readers ages 18+. Void where prohibited by law.  Please share the giveaway with your friends, and tell them about World Vision. Good luck!  GIVEAWAY ENDED
