While my kids enjoy playing with their Christmas toys, I’ve been enjoying a few new books!  One of my students asked me to read The Paper Magician and I’m a few chapters in.  I’ve also been reading Gone Girl but haven’t been able to focus on it. There are just so many good books to read!

#AfterSaga Here’s a new one that opened up a new Wattpad world to me. After (The After Series Book 1) was originally written by author Anna Todd on her phone! She published it in installments on Wattpad, which is a really cool world where readers and authors can connect. It’s free, so you can go right online and enjoy millions of stories. You could even write one of your own, like Anna Todd did! Her book is now published with Simon & Schuster and the movie rights have already been sold. Isn’t that awesome for the 25 year old author?! The After series features Tessa Young, an optimistic freshman at Washington State University, and the dark, troubled British bad boy who has stolen her heart. I’m interested to see how the book might parallel Todd’s life, who is a self-professed One Direction fan.   After gained impressive stats on Wattpad, with over 1 billion reads, more than 6 million comments, and now the available print edition sold in 26 countries.  You can buy this book on Barnes and Noble and get it for your e-reader.

Plus, here’s a giveaway opportunity associated with another book! “Fire” up the romance in the new year with Rachel Hauck‘s newest book, A Brush with Love, by entering her Kindle Fire giveaway! And be sure to catch a sneak peek of the soon-to-be-released How to Catch a Prince!

  1. That’s awesome for the author! I’m writing my second children’s book this year right now.

  2. I have to agree with you that there is just too much to read! I’ve never heard of WattPad. It’s amazing that there are so many ways for authors to get their works out now.
